NME is produced by the well know magazine publiser IPC media (www.ipcmedia.com). IPC media produce numerous magazines of all genres. NME is one of two magazines produced by IPC media.

NME has an average reader age of 23. 74% of readers are male and the remaining 26% are female. Meaning this magazine mainly applies to males in their 20's. To get the magazine to appeal to its target market NME has mainly male bands included in the magazine due to the large percentage of males reading this music magazine.
